I’m enjoying this new bend on things. I told Santosha Ma this past winter as the hills of our little town were being washed so thoroughly by perhaps the biggest rain season we’ve had since the 90’s, “Things are really different now. I feel I’ve more bandwidth.”

She agreed for herself and remarked on what a great period it is for her and her retirement. Posting these pages, gathering them up, last years work for this next cycle, I’m glad for this creative process, how threads of narrative both fiction and lived have a lovely sync. The spaces are big and clear, and washed clean, an odd thing to perhaps say in the summer 2023 in the central valley, but definitely imagined during the summer of 2022, and lived this past winter– strange worlds, renewed.
