Continent of what is considered the eastern hemisphere of the planet Bain. The Ephrasians flourished as an ancient culture for thousands of years. It’s people characteristically believed in a twin soul kinship between them and the distant planet Banx. Often referred to as the ancient ones (or Great Mothers) of Bain, Ephrasian religious cults worshiped various goddesses and viewed them as the mothers of the two worlds and asserted in their prophetic texts, that on Banx, lived their ‘brothers and sister,’ with whom they would reunite one day– a concept despised by the patriarchal Rumarians who, considered themselves the master race and suppressed them.

Ephrasia’s ancient golden period (or as Banxisithine Nadthsade scholars refer to as Bain’s period of communion with the Sister Worlds) ended when Rumarian (barbarians) armies invaded the land and dominated them for most of the planet’s history. After the early and middle wars– during the modern era of Ephrasia, Rumarian prospectors sunk their hooks deeply into the country through the East Ephrasia Company which drained Ephrasia of it’s wealth, and indentured it’s citizens to the whims of the Rumarian Empire until, the Great Coup where a confederacy of colonial continents, and worlds (Banx and Jolel) successfully forced the abdication of the Rumarian King (Dauphile) and installed his distant cousin Gwen Edgewood, legally an Ephrasian, and yet a blood relateive to Dauphile, on the throne.
