The healing goes well after surgery 11– another redo, four hours out like a light but in better hands this time.
My changing things up, going to Stanford was well worth it. I as well as my doctors are amazed at how persistent and aggressive my brand of thyroid cancer– tall cell variant– has been. I’ve spent half my time believing I’d seen the last of it. More work ahead, a healthy dose of beam radiation. For now… creativity.

I’ve been spending time in convalescing doing some writing, more taping, more storylines concerning the Nadthsade Dragon and all things Diamond Eyes.
In conversations with friends I’ve realized how long it takes for me to form up say a novel (I don’t want to say that’s what’s happening quite yet) years of false starts sometimes. Why should it be any differently. Anyway after six to seven years of pushing on comics, i’m feeling the call to the longer form.
